Set in a 100-year-old former private estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this "romantic" San Jose lodging offers a "remote", "serene" retreat 15 minutes from the airport; patrons take a "journey back in time" on "pristine grounds" with plenty of "charm, character" and "history", while the "courteous" service and "attractive" rooms featuring "plush bathrobes and slippers" are decidedly more up-to-date.

Restaurant was excellent, reasonably priced (prime rib $14.95 early bird), excellent service.
Closest door to parking area could not be opened with room key, had to walk 100 yards to an interior courtyard door.

Overall excellent experience. I wish my wife could have shared the luxury. I obviously caught the Hayes Mansion at the right time because there were very few other patrons. Staff seemed genuinely happy to have me there. ...read more

Luxury Historic Hotel

The staff was very accommodating. We were upgraded to a room with a private balcony with patio furniture at no extra charge.

Fancy resort look at a motel price;

Beautiful setting & facility.
Parking was limited.

Hotel was quiet clean and very nice. The meals were a bit pricey so I did not eat there. Overall it was very nice!
